Laser Resurfacing
Reverse the appearance of Fine Lines, Wrinkles, & Uneven Skin
Laser resurfacing is a treatment to reduce facial wrinkles and skin irregularities, such as blemishes and acne scars or uneven skin tone. The technique directs short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin, precisely removing skin layer by layer.

The two types of lasers most commonly used in laser resurfacing are Fractional CO2 and Erbium laser. Each laser vaporizes skin cells damaged at the surface-level. Our doctor will determine which laser treatment would be most effective for you at the initial complimentary consultation.
When to Consider Laser Skin Resurfacing
- If your skin is sun-damaged with wrinkling around your eyes and mouth as well as skin laxity in your lower eyelid area
- If you have experienced irregular changes in your skin color, such as blotchiness or brown spots
- If you have scars that have made the surface of your skin uneven
- If you have certain precancerous skin growths
If you are in good general health, have a positive attitude and realistic expectations, you are most likely a good candidate for this procedure. Certain other characteristics of your skin, such as its thickness and texture, may influence whether you are a good candidate for laser resurfacing.
CO2 Laser Resurfacing
This method has been used for years to treat different skin issues, including lines and wrinkles, scars, warts, enlarged oil glands on the nose, and other conditions. The newest version of CO2 laser resurfacing (fractionated CO2) uses very short pulsed light energy or continuous light beams that are delivered in a scanning pattern to remove thin layers of skin. Recovery takes approximately one week.
Erbium Laser Resurfacing
Erbium laser resurfacing is designed to remove surface-level and moderately deep lines and wrinkles on the face, hands, neck, or chest. The erbium laser skin resurfacing is the treatment of choice for those who would like to achieve dramatic improvement in the appearance of their skin. If you have a darker skin tone, erbium laser resurfacing may work better for you.
Erbium laser skin resurfacing has been found safe and effective by the FDA for the effective treatment of fine lines and moderate wrinkles. Those patients who have already undergone laser skin resurfacing to enhance their look and improve their self-confidence now find themselves with greatly improved, smoother, and younger-looking skin. Erbium laser skin resurfacing has also been shown to stimulate the production of collagen, which further smooths and tightens the skin.
