Since the watch uses your heartbeat to process Apple Pay, send notifications, make phone calls and use apps, some wrist tattoos may prevent Apple’s sensors from accurately recording your heartbeat. The problem boils down to color and size. Since the watch uses green light to detect the beat in red blood cells, if your tattoo is red, black or solid colored it may absorb the light and throw off the watch’s detector.
